Welcome to my blog… where I hope to share my journey during this second half of life. I expect there will be some ups and some downs; some victories and some failures; some new beginnings and some tearful good-byes. But despite the circumstances, I know God will work all things for the good. (Romans 8:28)
I haven’t always felt this way. I lived most of the first fifty years thinking God was some Divine accountant in the sky, taking pleasure in keeping track of my deficiencies in His book of life. I feared one wrong move; I strived for perfection; and I was exhausted.
I now choose to focus on God’s unconditional love rather than His harsh judgment. I concentrate on His grace and mercy, instead of the message of eternal damnation. And I’m learning that by taking delight in the Lord, He will give me the desires of my heart. (Psalm 37:4)
This blog will focus on those passions: writing, journaling, teaching, photography, scrapbooking, and travel – and how those passions help to revise this next phase of life. For 50 does not mean over the hill; instead, it simply points to a new beginning.
